Things people ask.
Do I need a USDOT number?
If you operate a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce, generally yes. Florida intrastate also requires USDOT for certain operations. We can confirm in 5 minutes.
How long does it take to get a USDOT number?
New USDOT numbers are typically issued same-day or within 24 hours after submission.
What is the difference between USDOT and MC?
USDOT identifies you to FMCSA. MC (Motor Carrier authority) is required for for-hire transportation of regulated commodities across state lines. Most for-hire trucking needs both.
Do I need to update my USDOT every year?
Biennial update (every 2 years) via the MCS-150 form is required. We remind clients and file it.
Does USDOT registration cost money?
FMCSA charges no fee to register a USDOT number. Our service fee covers the filing work, accuracy review and follow-up.
