Things people ask.
How long does MC authority take to become active?
FMCSA requires a 21-day public notice period after the application is filed and insurance is on record. After that, authority becomes active.
What is the FMCSA fee for MC authority?
FMCSA charges a federal application fee. We bill our service fee separately. Both are quoted up front.
Do I need MC authority if I only haul for one company?
Possibly not, if you operate exclusively under their authority as an owner-operator lease. Many drivers still benefit from getting their own. We can walk through it on a call.
Do you handle broker authority too?
Yes. Broker authority requires MC, $75K BMC-84 surety bond and BOC-3. We help with all three.
What is a new entrant safety audit?
New motor carriers go through an audit within their first 18 months. FMCSA reviews driver files, vehicle maintenance records, drug & alcohol testing, etc. We prep clients in advance.
